PHILADELPHIA WORKSPACE STUDIO

Dr. Dog & I share this record workshop in the Kensington section of Philly. It's one big open room called American Diamond.

We made a place that is inspiring/non intimidating/simple to operate. The building's full of artists & the room is full of instruments. We set it up to work quickly/happily here - lots of sunlight.

Recording & musical equipment at American Diamond:

MCI JH-24 24 track 2" tape recorder
Apogee Ensemble 8 Channel audio converter
Logic Studio 8 & G5
Adam speakers
Alesis Masterlink 2 track recorder
1176, Distressor, Demeter Spring reverb, Fulltone tube tape echo
Microphones by Wunder, Royer, Rode, Shure, EV, AKG, and Sennheiser
Estey full upright piano
Baldwin & Hammond organs

Dr. Dog goes on tour often and takes whatever they feel like taking so specific effects, amps, instruments aren't always here.

Where's the studio?

2131 North American Street
Philadelphia, PA 19122

This is on American Street just north of Diamond. If you're coming from Girard turn north on American Street just West of the 2nd Street light. Head north on American Street for about 9 blocks. Pass Diamond and we're on your right.
